KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): Datuk Mazlin Md Junid has resigned as an executive director in oil and gas special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), Reach Energy Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Reach Energy said although Mazlin had held the position of executive director, he was not part of the company’s management team.

“As an executive director, even on a part time basis, Datuk Mazlin may be construed as a member of the management team, as such after discussions with members of the board, he [Mazlin] has decided to resign from the board,” said Reach Energy in its announcement.

Mazlin had only joined Reach Energy on Aug 21 this year. He was formerly the executive vice chairman, president and group chief executive officer of Daya Materials Bhd.

He was also a former independent non-executive director of Sapura Industrial Bhd, Sapura Technology Bhd and MTD Infraperdana Bhd, and is currently a director in several private limited companies.

He currently holds 11,000 shares in Reach Energy.
