KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 17): Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) is organising a series of Repayment Assistance Advisory roadshows across the country to proactively reach out to its customers who may face difficulties with their loan and financing repayment post-moratorium.

In addition, Maybank is also extending its operating hours until 7pm on normal banking days from Sept 21 to Sept 30 for all its branches nationwide except for those within Covid-19 red zones, the bank said in a statement today.

“[This is] to provide even more convenience for customers to approach the bank. These efforts complement several other initiatives which Maybank has rolled out recently,” it added.

According to Maybank, the Repayment Assistance Advisory roadshows will be held at various Maybank branches, centres and public event halls during the next two weekends leading up to Sept 30.

The first sessions will be taking place on Sept 19 until Sept 20 from 10am to 4pm.

Customers may obtain the dates and venues for the Repayment Assistance Advisory roadshows and information on extension of branch operating hours at www.maybank2u.com.my/c/ra_roadshow, Maybank said.

“The roadshows and branch extended hours are for the convenience of both individual and SME (small and medium enterprise) customers. No appointments are required and customers just need to walk in to the designated venues. Customers are encouraged to bring along relevant supporting documents such as salary slips, letter from employer or bank statements to expedite the process,” it added.

With the moratorium ending on Sept 30, Maybank is encouraging its customers who need extended support to come and meet its financial advisors for free advisory services or to apply for repayment assistance.

For those who are unable to attend the roadshows, the bank has prepared three alternative ways to apply for the repayment assistance package, namely via Maybank’s online banking platform — Maybank2u.com, email and Maybank branches nationwide.

“To help ease the financial burden of its customers who may be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Maybank is offering repayment assistance packages that will be customised to help them deal with their challenges such loss of job or reduction in income due to the pandemic,” it said.
