KUALA LUMPUR (April 27): Maxis Bhd posted a net profit of RM505 million in the first quarter of year 2017 as revenue rose to RM2.16 billion, from RM2.14 billion a year earlier. Revenue rose as service income average revenue per user (ARPU) increased.

Blended ARPU takes into account users in the postpaid, prepaid and wireless broadband segments.

"For the financial year ending 31 December 2017, the group expects service revenue, absolute EBITDA and base capital expenditure to remain at similar levels to financial year 2016. The group will continue to further enhance its core customer propositions and maintain a high quality network to enable worry-free digital experience," Maxis said.
