SINGAPORE (May 28): The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today announced that investors will be required to report their short positions and short sell orders to MAS with effect from Oct 1.

The new requirements will apply to investors in securities listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) who take up short positions above the specified threshold of S$2 million or 0.2% of the total issued shares or units, whichever is lower.
