KUALA LUMPUR (June 24): Based on corporate announcements and news flow today, companies that may be in focus on Tuesday (June 25) may include: Marine & General Bhd, Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd, Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd, Handal Resources Bhd, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, Scomi Group Bhd and Sedania Innovator Bhd.

Marine & General Bhd’s subsidiary Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has bagged three work awards from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd worth a total of RM20.9 million, for the provision of anchor handling tug & supply vessel.

The group said the contracts, worth approximately RM6.98 million each, will last for six months with an option to extend by another six months.

Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMS) has secured a six-month contract extension for the long-term management and maintenance of state roads in Sarawak, worth RM94 million.

The group said its unit CMS Roads Sdn Bhd received the extension letter from the Sarawak government today.

The extension period is from July 1 to Dec 31, based on the same terms of the contract, it said.

Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd has secured a RM297.5 million contract from Malton Bhd to develop two tower blocks for a high-rise residential development here, which is Phase 1 of the Duta Park Residences.

The construction group said its unit Fajarbaru Builder Sdn Bhd has accepted the contract award from Malton's unit, Malton Development Sdn Bhd.

Additionally, Fajarbaru said it has agreed to lock in a sum of RM108 million for the construction of Phase 2, a tower block of 46 levels, comprising 536 units.

Handal Resources Bhd's joint venture (JV) has bagged a seven-year contract worth RM360 million from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

Handal said the JV, Borneo Seaoffshore-Handal JV, was awarded the job of providing water injection module supply on mobile offshore unit.

Handal said the contract is to commence from March 2020, with an extension option of a further three years.

Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd is exploring opportunities in the oil and gas (O&G), energy, engineering and civil works, as well as construction and development projects with the Melaka government in the state.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding with PKNM Energy Sdn Bhd, which is wholly-owned by the state's Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Melaka, for the venture.

Serba Dinamik Group managing director Datuk Dr Ir Mohd Karim Abdullah said the cooperation with PKNM Energy will expand Serba Dinamik’s footprint to Melaka, and enhance the company’s brand recognition.

Scomi Group Bhd said Scomi Transit Projects Sdn Bhd (STP) and Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (PMB) have signed an agreement involving the design, manufacture, completion and delivery of seven four-car vehicles for the KL Monorail for RM122 million.

Scomi said the completion of the agreement is conditional upon issuance of an acceptance certificate by PMB after the expiry of a monitoring period, following completion of remedial works to put five four-car monorail trains into revenue service.

It said the works (for the seven four-car vehicles) are to be completed within 18 months from the issuance of a notice to proceed by PMB.

Technology company Sedania Innovator Bhd has inked an exclusive agreement with Belgian firm, NV Turbulent, to build and deploy micro-hydro installations in Malaysian rivers to generate electricity, marking its official venture into the renewable energy market.

Sedania signed a technology partner and distribution agreement with Turbulent to secure the turbine technology for installations in Malaysia, for which the company will also provide "IoT-driven power performance monitoring".

It said suitable locations for the installation of microturbines are mostly rural areas, including villages, agricultural, farming and palm plantations throughout Malaysia, which are unreached by the national electrical grid.
