KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 1): Malindo Air has obtained the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), a voluntary safety audit programme aligned with global best practices.

The accreditation is valid from June 4, 2016 to June 3, 2018, as the programme occurs once every two years after the airline successfully completes the first audit, Malindo said in a statement today.

The IOSA is an internationally-recognized evaluation system, which assesses the operational management and control systems of an airline.

“Obtaining the IOSA registration is a valuable operational benchmark for Malindo Air, as this further validates that safety is paramount for us,” said Malindo CEO Chandran Rama Muthy.

The programme will contribute to the group’s increasing emphasis on improving safety management to provide convenient and safe travel experience for its passengers, he said.

“As safety remains our number one priority, I would like to congratulate all our employees for their hard work in maintaining this international and highly recognized standards for Malindo Air,” Muthy said.

The regional airline has been operational since March 2013.
