KUALA LUMPUR (June 25): Malaysia administered yesterday (June 24) 268,604 Covid-19 vaccine doses to recipients, up from 252, 773 a day earlier, according to latest updates on Twitter by the country’s Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), citing data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).
The CITF said the 268,604 vaccine shots comprised 175, 201 first doses and 93,403 second doses for recipients.
In total, 6.82 million Covid-19 vaccine doses had been administered across the nation so far, the task force said, comprising 4.92 million first doses and 1.9 million second doses.

Among the states and federal territories, Kuala Lumpur reported the highest cumulative number of first doses administered at 857,559, followed by Sarawak at 830,756, the CITF said.
For second doses, Selangor recorded the highest cumulative number of shots administered at 251,260, followed by Johor at 199,873, according to the task force.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s daily confirmed Covid-19 infections climbed to 5,841 yesterday, from 5,244 a day earlier, according to Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement.
He said the 5,841 cases brought the cumulative number of infections in the country to 716,847 so far.
The country also reported yesterday another 84 Covid-19-related deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities linked to the pandemic to 4,721 so far, according to Noor Hisham.
