KUALA LUMPUR (June 11): Malaysia's palm oil stockpile declined 0.51% to 2.17 million tonnes in May 2018 from 2.18 million tonnes in April, as production declined in Peninsular Malaysia, and Sabah offset gains in Sarawak.

It was the fifth consecutive monthly decline in Malaysia's palm oil stockpile.

According to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board's (MPOB) statement today, monthly crude palm oil (CPO) production declined 2.1% to 1.53 million tonnes, from 1.56 million tonnes in April.

Sarawak's CPO production rose 8.62% in the month, whereas production in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah fell 3.92% and 6.64% respectively.

Meanwhile, palm oil exports fell 15.65% to 1.29 million tonnes, from 1.53 million tonnes in April.
