KUALA LUMPUR (May 10): Malaysia's palm oil inventory fell 4.53% to 1.8 million tonnes in April, from 1.89 million tonnes a month earlier, as exports declined, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said today.

The country's palm oil inventory comprises crude palm oil (CPO) and processed palm oil. In a statement, MPOB said palm oil exports fell 12.82% to 1.16 million tonnes, from 1.34 million tonnes in March.  

CPO output however rose 6.7% to 1.3 million tonnes, from 1.22 million tonnes, MPOB said.

According to MPOB, CPO output increased on higher production across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.

In March, the country's palm oil inventory fell 13.12% from a month earlier, while exports rose 22.69%. CPO output climbed 16.93%.
