Malaysia to relaunch shortened East Coast Rail Link July 25 — report

KUALA LUMPUR (July 9): Malaysia will relaunch the shortened East Cost Rail Link later this month and local contractors will be able to bid for the 40% civil works portion of the project, NST reports, citing Transport Minster Anthony Loke.

* NOTE: China Communications Construction Co and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd on April 12 signed a supplementary agreement to resume the rail project at a lower cost of RM44 billion (US$10.6 billion)

* Separately, Malaysia and Singapore to reach a decision on cutting cost of the RM4 billion high-speed rail project by Sept 30, NST reports, citing Loke
