KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): The airport employee who sustained critical injuries in an accident on the runway of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, passed away today after two days of intensive medical care.

Mohd Ruzaimi Iskandar Ahmad Razali, 39, drew his last breath at 6.45pm, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said in a statement today.

He leaves behind his wife Nor Azawiah Md Usuf and four children aged one to 13 years old.

“Ruzaimi was a dedicated staff and fully committed to his work. He stood out amongst his peers and the management as a talented individual with exemplary work ethics. His passing is a tragic loss for Malaysia Airports,” said said MAHB chief executive officer Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin,

“We are extending our full support to the family members of the deceased and facilitating the funeral arrangements. Our priority is to ensure that the comfort and welfare of the family are taken care of.

“As we grieve with the family, we urge all media and the public not to speculate and to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time,” he added.

Ruzaimi was critically injured when the airport engineering vehicle he was driving was involved in an accident with a private aircraft on the runway of the airport at 3.20am on March 18.

In an earlier statement today, MAHB said it is giving full cooperation to the authorities as they carry out a full investigation into the incident.

“We are working closely with Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia and Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport on the investigation,” the company said.
