KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh has been appointed as the group CEO of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) effective March 2.

Prior to his appointment, Mohd Shukrie was acting group CEO following the departure of Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin on Jan 7.

In a bourse filing today, MAHB said with this appointment, Mohd Shukrie, 46, will relinquish his position as chief operating officer (COO) of the group effective the same date. He joined MAHB on May 1, 2019.

Prior to that, he was the COO of AirAsia Group Bhd. He was also the former group CEO of KL Airport Services Sdn Bhd, the aircraft ground handling, cargo and logistics arm of DRB-Hicom Group. On July 1, 2011, he joined Pos Malaysia Bhd as group COO and was thereafter re-designated as covering group CEO on Feb 1, 2013.  In 2013, he joined Konsortium Logistik Bhd as group CEO.

He was appointed as the group CEO of Pos Malaysia on Nov 1, 2015.

MAHB shares closed 26 sen or 3.8% lower at RM6.59 today, giving a market capitalisation of RM10.93 billion.
