KUALA LUMPUR (June 22): Today is the last day in service for Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) managing director Datuk Mohd Badlisham Ghazali as his contract tenure has come to an end.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, MAHB said 51-year-old Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, who is MAHB's chief financial officer, will serve as acting group chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from tomorrow (June 23). He joined MAHB as CFO on Feb 1, 2016, and prior to that he was executive director and group CFO of UDA Holdings Bhd.

MAHB chairman Tan Sri Syed Anwar Jamalullail expressed his appreciation to Badlisham, 55, for his efforts and dedication in steering MAHB over the past four years, and getting it to a position where the company is now ready to embark on its long-term business objectives.

"The necessary announcements will be made once Datuk Mohd Badlisham's successor has been identified. In the interim, Raja Azmi will serve as CEO and has the full support of the board, having been with MAHB for over two years and having significant experience behind him," he said.

The airport operator will focus heavily on increasing operational and logistics efficiencies and enhancing human convenience. The company will further equip itself with the funding required to expand its facilities to effectively manage the increasing volume of traffic, visitors and cargo shipments.

Badlisham had held the position of CEO since June 23, 2014, when he took over from Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad who had served for more than a decade as managing director. Prior to joining MAHB, he was the CEO of Multimedia Development Corp.

MAHB shares closed down 4 sen or 0.46% today to RM8.75, for a market capitalisation of RM14.5 billion.
