KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 7): Mah Sing Group Bhd’s Acacia Phase 2 double-storey linked homes at its Meridin East township development in Johor has achieved 80% in take-up over a weekend launch last Saturday (Dec 5). Phase 2 comprises 94 units and has a gross development value (GDV) of RM57.2 million.

Acacia Phase 1, launched in 1Q2020, is fully taken up. The first phase has 93 units and a GDV of RM55.4 million.

“The encouraging take-up rate for Acacia Phase 2 is a testament that demand for affordably priced properties of good quality at strategic locations remains resilient,” said Mah Sing’s chief operating officer Benjamin Ong in a press release.

“This positive result is also on the back of the government’s Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2020. Buyers can leverage on the HOC under Penjana [the National Economic Recovery Plan], which includes stamp duty exemption on the instruments of transfer for residential properties limited to the first RM1 million of the home price and full stamp duty exemption for loan agreement,” Ong added.

Due to complete in 4Q2022, the homes at Acacia Phase 2 measure 22’ by 70’ with built-ups of 1,838 sq ft. The four-bedroom three-bathroom units are priced from RM498,000 and will offer an open concept layout. The development will also have 24-hour security and CCTV surveillance, according to the developer.

“In conjunction with Mah Sing’s Goodbye 2020 Sale, customers are able to book a unit in Acacia Phase 2 for only RM200. The low bank interest rate also enables purchasers to own Acacia Phase 2 from only RM1,150 per month,” according to the developer’s statement.

It added that Acacia Phase 2 is eligible for Mah Sing’s Eazy to Own Campaign, which offers Maybank Islamic HouzKEY to provide buyers with up to 100% financing and lower monthly instalments, as well as Mah Sing’s HOC Plus Campaign, which offers a smart home system package to all new purchasers in December.

According to Mah Sing, the weekend launch was the first virtual official property launch at Meridin East. It featured the theme “A House that Listens to You” as well as events like “Show Unit Walkthrough with Social Media Influencer Jazmin Lee”, “Homely-Feeling Interior Design with a Small Budget” and “An Introduction to Smart Home”.

On-ground activities were also held at the Meridin East Sales Gallery according to SOP despite the uplifting of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to safeguard guests who have pre-registered to visit Acacia’s show units, said the developer.

Located in Pasir Gudang, Meridin East is a 1,313-acre freehold township with 500 acres of greenery, two nine-acre lakes, 16km of jogging and cycling track, children’s playground and basketball courts. To date, more than 900 homes at the township have been handed over to purchasers, while another 400 units will be completed and handed over to purchasers in 2021, according to the statement.
