KUALA LUMPUR (June 7): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has urged ex-1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) special adviser Low Taek Jho, or commonly known as Jho Low, to come forward immediately to assist in its investigations into 1MDB's former subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.

MACC has also asked SRC managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil Nik Othman, 47, to help in the investigations.

The last known address of Jho Low is in Tanjung Bungah Park, Tanjung Bungah, Penang while Nik Faisal's last address is Jalan Tun Teja 35/16, Alam Impian, Shah Alam, Selangor. Both of their whereabouts are unknown.

SRC International, which now reports to the Ministry of Finance after slipping into financial woes in 2012, allegedly transferred RM42 million into the personal bank account of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Set up in 2011 to invest in the energy business, the company is also allegedly said to have trouble servicing its debts of RM4.3 billion which came primarily from the Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP).

Earlier today, Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was quoted as saying that there is adequate evidence to arrest Jho Low, 37, but the government would have to wait a while more to do that.

Speaking at a monthly gathering in his ministry, Muhyiddin said he still remembers the 1MDB issue from his days as the Deputy Prime Minister in the previous government and that it is still a hot topic.

"People ask me why don't we just arrest Jho Low. We are told that we have to wait for a bit still for more information but I think we already have sufficient evidence. Everyone knows that Jho Low is the key person in the 1MDB scandal that has become one of the biggest cases in the world.

"In addition, I am not saying that we should pre-empt the law but in cases where the evidence is clear, and the people involved have been named, stern police and legal action in line with criminal and corruption laws that should be taken against them must be immediate," he added.
