KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): National firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) today said liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo deliveries are not affected by the gas leak incident at its Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline on Jan 10 this year.

In a statement today, Petronas said gas supply from the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal to Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu has been stopped to ensure the safety of the incident site.

"Gas supply to customers remains unaffected," it added.

"Petronas as a reliable LNG supplier, with no missed deliveries since 1983, will continue to uphold its commitment to its customers," it said.

Investigations into the cause of the gas leak are ongoing. Petronas said it is working closely with the authorities and community to ensure people's safety at all times.

At 11.30am, shares in Petronas Gas Bhd slipped 1.21% or 22 sen to RM17.98 with 39,400 shares traded.
