KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 31): Lim Keong Hui, son of Genting Bhd's chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, has been redesignated as chief information officer for Genting Bhd, Genting Malaysia Bhd and Genting Plantations Bhd effective tomorrow.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the three companies said Keong Hui, 30, remains as the group's executive director (ED) in the chairman's office. 

Prior to his redesignation, Keong Hui served as Genting's senior vice-president of business development since March 1, 2013. He was also formerly senior vice president of business development at Genting Hong Kong Ltd (GENHK) until he was redesignated as the ED in the chairman’s office of GENHK.

Prior to joining GENHK in 2009, Keong Hui had embarked on an investment banking career with The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp Ltd.

He is also director of Genting, Genting Plantations Bhd as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Lim Goh Tong.

Genting shares ended three sen or 0.3% lower at RM8.87 today, while Genting Plantations' share price dropped 16 sen or 1.6% to close at RM10. Genting Malaysia closed the last trading day of the year five sen or 1.2% higher at RM4.07.
