KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 30): Maxis Bhd said the successful implementation of digital transformation initiatives requires not just better understanding of the benefits of technology, but also collaboration through partnerships to break down complexities.

Paul McManus, chief enterprise business officer of Maxis, said there is an urgent need for organisations today to work together and accelerate their transformation efforts, with digital disruption already happening across industries.

"A big part of digital transformation is about understanding the immense benefits of technology, as well as partnerships to help simplify its complexity and successfully implement it to achieve the desired outcome and benefit.

"By hosting this summit, we hope to create more awareness on the potential and possibilities of what technology can do for businesses, as well as inspire participants with insights and experiences from an international line-up of business leaders and speakers," he added.

Maxis is hosting its inaugural Maxis Business SPARK Summit 2019 tomorrow to accelerate awareness and promote greater implementation of digital transformation initiatives across various industries in the country, as part of the company's commitment to championing digital transformation initiatives.

The one-day summit, which will be held at EQ Hotel here, is expected to bring together international speakers and key leaders from across corporates, government entities, and small medium enterprises (SMEs), to provide an in-depth look on the exponential advancement in technology and disruption innovation for businesses and evolving digital lifestyles of today.

A key feature of the summit will be a special presentation on 'Transforming for 2030 and beyond' by leading futurist and chief executive officer (CEO) of Tomorrow, Mike Walsh.

Summit goers can benefit from Walsh's session delivering insights on exploiting digital platforms to drive exponential growth, customer experiences, and nurturing of the next generation leaders and algorithmic leaders.

Additionally, participants can look forward to engaging panel discussions on driving digital transformation through smart collaborations in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, cloud, fifth-generation (5G) technology, big data and artificial intelligence, mobility, network and security.

This is as there will be over 20 local and international experts from top Malaysian companies and global multinationals lined up to discuss and empower participants with insights in this era of accelerating technology.

The summit will also feature a smart solution showcase and networking sessions to discuss ideas and opportunities with key industry leaders from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), AWS, AirAsia, Cisco, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, Petronas, Samsung, Vodafone, General Electric, RHB, Shell, and more.

Maxis, as the leading converged solutions company in Malaysia, said it remains committed to championing digital transformation initiatives in line with the government's digital economy agenda.

Over the past year, the company has helped many organisations in shaping and accelerating the benefits of technology adoption for businesses.

Key initiatives underlining this commitment include partnerships with MDEC to develop the IoT ecosystem, Cisco for software-defined networking, and Huawei Technologies Malaysia for 5G acceleration in the country.
