KUALA LUMPUR: Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd (LCT) said yesterday its plants in Pasir Gudang and Tanjung Langsat were operating under normal conditions.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, LCT denied any involvement in the Sungai Kim Kim pollution incident, and dismissed speculations that its plants were shut for two weeks due to the incident.

“The company hereby denies the rumour and wishes to announce that all plants in Pasir Gudang and Tanjung Langsat are operating under normal conditions and the company is conducting business as usual,” it said.

LCT said it had been working closely with the authorities, other organisations and companies in the vicinity in providing support and rendering assistance.

“The company will continue to monitor rumours or inaccurate information affecting the company. It views this matter seriously and is considering all appropriate action including legal recourse as it deems fit against any party that initiates, disseminates or circulates baseless allegations or rumours,” it said.

LCT shares settled one sen higher at RM4.28 yesterday, valuing the group at RM9.37 billion.
