KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): After the historic polls on May 9, investigations into the scandal-ridden 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) have reopened with the change in government, with one of the key developments since being the lifting of the Official Secrets seal on the Auditor-General's report on the state-owned strategic investment fund's activities.

Besides dissecting the declassified A-G's report to get to the truth behind what went wrong in 1MDB, The Edge Malaysia (The Edge), in its May 21-May 27 issue, has put together a special 24-page pull-out that features some of the key news reports published in 2015 by The Edge and its sister publication, The Edge Financial Daily, on the financial irregularities that took place.

Titled 'Reporting The 1MDB Scandal -- A look Back', The Edge  hopes the pullout will refresh the memory of its readers and enlighten those who may not be familiar with what happened three years ago, says The Edge Media Group publisher and group CEO Ho Kay Tat.

"We were suspended for three months (cancelled by the High Court after nine weeks) and investigators were restrained and removed. Two Cabinet ministers were sacked. Many more people became collateral damage. In the past three years, Malaysia has gone through an unprecedented period of financial and political turmoil that stunned the world and shocked the nation. The people finally spoke at the ballot box on May 9 and, at last, we now have a chance to tell the full story of 1MDB," says Ho.
