KUALA LUMPUR: Konsortium Transnasional Bhd’s (KTB) major shareholder Tan Sri Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh said he knew of “nothing” that could have contributed to the more than 100% surge in the bus transportation service provider’s share price yesterday.

“I haven’t even looked at the share price,” Mohd Nadzmi, who is also KTB chairman and managing director, told The Edge Financial Daily when contacted in the morning.

KTB’s share price more than doubled in early trading and remained at around that level for the rest of the day. It closed nine sen or 105.88% higher at 17.5 sen, after rising by as much as 11 sen or 129% to 19.5 sen.

KTB was the day’s most active stock on Bursa Malaysia with 124.75 million shares changing hands

Mohd Nadzmi holds direct and indirect stakes of 1.81% and 68.07% respectively in the company, according to the group’s latest shareholding change filing with Bursa.
