KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 2): Kronologi Asia Bhd today won an exabyte-size cloud hyper-scale supply and managed services contract in China.

The group said the contract was awarded by a market-leading web search, online community and artificial intelligence services provider. It however did not disclose the identity of the Chinese entity.

“This implementation involves China’s largest cloud hyper-scale infrastructure for cloud-based data archive, long-term data preservation and retention services,” Kronologi group CEO cum executive director Edmond Tay said in a statement.

“It is in tandem with the group’s strategic initiatives for its 'as-a-service' consumption and subscription-based model to progressively invest in infrastructure for future growth in the new normal world and will certainly help grow near-term opportunities for us in the Greater China area,” Tay added.

Tay said the contract is testimony to the group’s overall capabilities in enterprise data management solutions across Asia, and in building long-lasting growth partnerships with its customers.

The group expects the deal to contribute positively to its operating performance.
