KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): Kronologi Asia Bhd's net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019 rose 12.7% year-on-year to RM5.06 million from RM4.5 million on the back of higher contribution from Hong Kong/Taiwan and India operations, and a maiden contribution from the recent Sandz acquisition.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Kronologi said revenue for the quarter rose to RM52.07 million from RM40.43 million previously.

However, earnings per share dipped to 1.1 sen from 1.28 sen.

For the six months ended June 30, Kronologi's net profit rose to RM8.75 million from RM6.51 million, while revenue rose to RM84.57 million from RM79.19 million a year earlier.

On its prospects, Kronologi said the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Infrastructure Technology (IT) business will continue to be an important business driver for the group, especially with new EDM IT solutions and opportunities through recently acquired Sandz Solutions.

"The group is also expanding its EDM Managed Services with innovative breakthrough 'as a service' and expertise enterprise solutions for on premise, hybrid and cloud-based solutions to meet our customers' needs," it said.

At the midday break today, Kronologi rose 2.5% or 1.5 sen to 61 sen for a market capitalisation of RM298.46 million.
