KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 24): The overall sentiment at Bursa Malaysia is expected to remain cautious today in line with the overnight slip at most global markets and the FBM KLCI may test the 1,680-point level.

The dollar rose to an eight-month high on Monday amid heightened expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve might raise interest rates next month, driving down the prices of copper, gold and other metals, according to Reuters.

World equity markets slipped, with U.S. stocks ending slightly lower in quiet trading after a week of strong gains, it said.

The local benchmark index rose yesterday, riding on Tenaga Nasional Bhd but it may struglle to sustain its gains in the same manner, given the external weakness as well as lack of fresh domestic catalysts.

Based on corporate announcements and news flow yesterday, the companies that may be in focus today could include the following: AMMB Holdings Bhd, Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd, Eversendai Corporation Bhd, Sunway Construction Group Bhd, Inix Technologies Bhd, UWM-Oil & Gas Corporation Bhd, Ni Hsin Resources Bhd, Multi Sports Holdings Bhd, Kretam Holdings Bhd, Lion Corporation Bhd, C.I. Holdings Bhd, JCY International Bhd, Oriental Interest Bhd, Zelan Bhd, TDM Bhd, Malakoff Corporation Bhd, Pos Malaysia Bhd and I-Bhd.
