KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 20): The FBM KLCI pared some of its gains at mid-morning today, in line with the nervy regional markets.

At 10.01am, the FBM KLCI was up 0.08 points to 1,651.79. The index had earlier risen to a high of 1,656.91.

The top gainers included Magni-Tech Industries Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, SCGM Bhd, UMW Holdings Bhd, United U-Li Corp Bhd, George Kent (M) Bhd, Focus Lumber Bhd, Sasbadi Holdings Bhd and Genting Bhd.

The actives included Iris Corp Bhd, DRB-Hicom Bhd, Lion Diversified Bhd, Danang NexChange Bhd, KNM Group Bhd and IFCA MSC Bhd.

The losers included Nestle (M) Bhd, Heineken Malaysia Bhd, PPB Group Bhd, Genting Malaysia Bhd, Time Dotcom Bhd, KLCC Property Holdings Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd and Pos Malaysia Bhd.

Asian shares edged lower on Tuesday as investors nervously waited on the outcomes of the Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan policy meetings that begin later in the session, according to Reuters.

Global markets have been blowing hot and cold in recent weeks over the Fed's intentions, not helped by both hawkish and dovish comments from several Fed officials over this period, it said.

Hong Leong IB Research said it expects selling pressures on Bursa Malaysia to prevail as investors await further clues from key central banks’ policy review.
