KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): The FBM KLCI is expected to extend its gains on the penultimate trading day of 2015 today and trade between a band of 1,680-1690 points, in line with the overnight gains at most global markets.

Stocks rose around the world and bond yields edged up on Tuesday as oil rebounded from 11-year lows on prospects for lower temperatures on both sides of the Atlantic, according to Reuters.

The fall in oil prices has been a major driver of financial markets this year, hammering energy companies, lowering inflation expectations and reinforcing bets on loose monetary policy in Europe and a slow tightening in the United States, it said.

Meanwhile, Wall Street rose sharply on Tuesday, elevating the S&P 500 to a modest gain for the year, as Amazon and Apple led tech stocks higher and recovering crude prices bolstered energy shares, said Reuters.

Based on corporate announcements and news flow yesterday, companies that may be in focus today could include: Pavilion REIT, Boustead Holdings Bhd, Petaling Tin Bhd, My E.G. Services Bhd, Box-Pak (Malaysia) Bhd, IHH Healthcare Bhd, Microlink Solutions Bhd, Only World Group Holdings Bhd), Berjaya Corp, PUC Founder MSC (M) Bhd, Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Bhd and Raya International Bhd.
