The gainers included Hwang Capital (Malaysia) Bhd, Nestle (M) Bhd, Aturmaju Resources Bhd, KLCC Property Holdings Bhd, Hong Leong Industries Bhd, Hong Leong Bnk Bhd and MKH Bhd.

Asian shares were nearly flat in early trading on Tuesday, while the dollar rebounded from steep losses against the yen in the previous session, according to Reuters.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan did not stray far from its previous close, after Wall Street closed with modest losses overnight, it said.

Hong Leong IB Research said that technically, the FBM KLCI might stage a mild technical rebound amid improving daily RSI, MACD and Stochastics.

“However, any rebound might be capped near 1640 – 1650 territories given some uncertainty surrounding the looming Brexit, higher likelihood of US interest rate hike in June as well as local earnings result jitters,” it said.
