KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Key Alliance Group Bhd is teaming up with a clinical diagnostics laboratory firm to offer onsite testing services for Covid-19.

In a bourse filing, the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Key Alliance Sdn Bhd has signed an agreement with Dunia Wellness Laboratories Sdn Bhd to provide the onsite testing services on demand within Peninsular Malaysia.

Under the arrangement, Key Alliance will provide Care Gene Covid-19 PCR test kits to Dunia Wellness for onsite testing services, for clients provided by the former only.

“This partnership provides the ability for the group to bundle its test kits with a locum testing service to cater for private sector and large government-linked companies who have a requirement for large scale testing within a short period,” the group said.

In a separate statement, Key Alliance said it is now able to offer corporate clients an end-to-end testing package for large scale workforces, with its own brand of RT PCR Covid-19 test kits currently being processed to secure special access for importation and sale.

The group said it secured its Medical Device Authority (MDA) and other regulatory licences earlier this year. It also obtained a stockpile of 100,000 Wells Bio’s Care Gene RT PCR kits and is waiting for its special access to be granted by the health ministry.

"With the current third wave of Covid-19 causing daily infections in the hundreds, the need for speedy on-site testing is greater than ever and this partnership with Dunia Laboratories will allow the private sector, especially factories and construction companies with huge workforces, to test their employees quickly, regularly and efficiently using our products and services," said Key Alliance managing director Roy Ho.

Key Alliance is also undergoing a capital call to explore the importance of dengue test kits and other relevant in vitro rest devices, actively seeking opportunities to enhance its existing cloud portfolio in the telemedicine and digital healthcare industry.

Shares in Key Alliance finished 15.39% or one sen lower at 5.5 sen, valuing the group at RM108.04 million. The counter saw 30.25 million shares transacted.
