KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 4): Inix Technologies Holdings Bhd is in early talks with parties developing a Covid-19 vaccine, the group said in a bourse filing today.

"As of now, the management and board of directors are still in negotiations with parties developing the vaccine and as of to date, it is in [a] preliminary stage," it said.

Inix was responding to a news report which said the ACE Market-listed firm had obtained access to supply of Covid-19 vaccine.

The New Straits Times, in its report published on Wednesday, quoted sources as saying that Inix had managed to secure the supply of a potential vaccine from an undisclosed high-technology company.

"A formal agreement on the deal is expected to be signed within weeks," the report said.

According to the national English daily, Inix is also poised to build a medical rubber glove plant in Perak via a joint venture with a state-owned company there.

In response to this, the information technology firm, which previously announced its RM23 million venture into the rubber glove business, said it was in talks with various parties for the matter.

"[The group is] in talks with various parties and one of the parties is a Perak state GLC (government-linked company) in relation to building a rubber glove factory," it said.

"[The group] would like to reiterate that the above-mentioned matters are all in preliminary stage and [we] will make the relevant announcement as and when the above-mentioned matters materialise," it added.

Shares in Inix settled half a sen or 1.45% higher at 35 sen apiece, with 74.94 million units done. This gives the counter a market capitalisation of RM123.59 million.
