SINGAPORE (Sept 28): CAPA the Centre for Aviation is expecting continued expansion from Indian airlines in the near future, on the belief that the carriers have yet to make full use of the existing Singapore-India air services agreement.

In an analysis report on Thursday, the provider of aviation market intelligence notes that growth in the Singapore-India market has accelerated significantly by 17% over the first eight months of 2017, driven in part by a surge in Indian visitor numbers in Singapore.

This observation was echoed in the latest operational performance statistics released by Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group earlier this month, which attributed a 4.8 percentage point (ppt) passenger load factor (PLF) improvement in August to strong growth demand in India, Maldives, China, and Southeast Asia...
