KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 27): icapital.biz Bhd, a closed-ended fund, saw its net profit falling 13.2% to RM4.91 million in the second quarter ended Nov 30, 2014 (2QFY15), from a year earlier, as it recorded lower dividend income and smaller gain on disposal of investment.

The profit translates into an earnings per share of 3.51 sen, down from 4.04 sen a year ago.  

Revenue for the quarter was also lower by 7.3% to RM7.12 million, from RM7.68 million previously.

Meanwhile, for the first six months ended Nov 30, 2014 (1HFY15), icapital.biz’s net profit increased 3.21% to RM7.08 million, from a year ago.
 
Revenue however, recorded a decline of nearly 4% to RM10.65 million, against the previous year’s RM11.08 million.

According to its filing to Bursa Malaysia, icapital.biz had cash and cash equivalents totalling RM250.31 million as of Nov 30, 2014, up from RM208.3 million a year earlier.

icapital.biz’s net asset value (NAV) per share, a better measure of the close-ended fund’s performance, stood at RM3 as at Nov 30, 2014, lower by 1.64% compared to an NAV of RM3.05 as at May 31, 2014.
