“Karel joined HSBC in 2007 and brings diverse coverage and advisory experience spanning corporate, commercial and investment banking,” the bank said, noting that she has over two decades of experience in Malaysia.

“Alongside her coverage experience, Karel brings to the fore, strong operational, credit and risk management expertise as chief operating officer of CMB Malaysia and also as head of CMB for HSBC Amanah,” said HSBC.

She is also a strong advocate of gender equality and is co-chair for the regional and local diversity and inclusion committees in HSBC, besides being a member of the 30% Club and Lean In Malaysia, added HSBC.
