KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Bank Bhd (HLB) has launched a card-less withdrawal service to enable its customers to withdraw cash from their current or savings accounts at any of its ATM machines without using their ATM or debit cards. All they need to do is access the bank’s digital banking platform — the Hong Leong Connect (HLC) mobile applicaton.

The application is available for download from iOS’ AppStore, Android’s Google Play, the Blackberry World and Windows Phone stores.

“You may forget to bring your ATM card but you seldom forget your smartphone ... you can still withdraw cash from the ATM [machine] by just accessing your Connect app. HLC transforms your smartphone into your ATM card,” said HLB chief operating officer Raja Teh Maimunah in a statement.

HLC provides personal digital banking services to HLB customers across multiple platforms and devices, from online to mobile and tablet banking, and has recently released its latest banking application specially developed for tablet devices.

One of HLC’s features is PEx, a mobile money transfer service that allows Connect app users to send money to anyone via their phone numbers.

HLB, last month, also launched PEx+, a retail payment service using smartphone technology that enables customers to pay for their retail purchases without the need for cash or card in Vietnam.
