KUALA LUMPUR (June 4): Hong Leong Assurance (HLA) is extending its complimentary dual special benefit programme for Covid-19 until Dec 31, 2020, to ensure that customers and their families are adequately protected throughout this period.

 

In a statement today, HLA said in keeping with customers' best interests, the complimentary dual special benefit programme for Covid-19 is offered to all policyholders who owned an individual medical plan should they be infected with Covid-19. 

 

"This programme provides hospitalisation benefit of RM200 per day for up to 30 days of hopitalisation upon confirmed Covid-19 diagnosis and placed under quarantine at any Ministry of Health's (MoH) designated hospitals. 

 

"In addition, a lump sum payment of RM10,000 is offered to the victim's family as a compassionate benefit to face any unexpected events should death take place," it said.

 

Furthermore, HLA said this complimentary special benefit comes at no additional cost and is given in addition to its current medical benefits. 

 

"Customers who have recently purchased any of our medical plans including the newly-launched HLA FiT 3 Medi-Income and HLA MediStarter Ride, during the duration of the programme are also eligible without a waiting period. This programme will be in effect immediately upon successful signing up of new policy," it added.

 

Additionally, HLA and Hong Leong MISG have jointly pledged RM1 million to this programme, which began on February 28 and ends on December 31, or upon exhaustion of the RM1 million fund, whichever earlier. 

 

"As one of Malaysia's leading insurers, this is HLA's way of going the extra mile in providing financial support to our valued customers and alleviate their worries in the event they are infected with Covid-19 at any point throughout the year," it said.
