KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL) has secured a construction contract worth RM104.51 million from the Sarawak state government.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, HSL said it had received a letter of acceptance from the Sarawak Public Works Department for a project in Sibu.

It said the scope of works includes piling works, earth/sand filling, geotechnical work, drainage and road pavement.

The group added that traversing low lying terrain, the works will draw on HSL's expertise in marine engineering.

HSL said the contract period is 24 months and physical construction work is expected to commence in September 2019.

The group said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings as the project progresses.

At the midday break today, HSL gained 0.75% or 1 sen to RM1.35 for a market capitalisation of RM786.61 million.
