KUALA LUMPUR (April 2): Hong Leong Assurance (HLA) has launched its Premier Millions, a protection plan with a process of recovery from advanced cancer.

In a statement today, HLA said under the Advanced Cancer Care Rider, policyholders are entitled to an annual limit of US$1 million/RM4 million worth of overseas medical treatment for advanced cancer, with the ability for multiple claims within the same year.

The company said the plan also features a lifetime limit of US$2 million/RM8 million in overseas medical treatments for advanced cancer, which can be used in the event of relapse of cancer or occurrence of other types of cancer.

HLA said the Advanced Cancer Care Rider provides policyholders with a second medical opinion on their cancer diagnosis, after which they will choose from a medical centre of their choice from the United States, Europe, or Australia to seek treatment.

It explained that everything from initial diagnosis to planning for accommodation and travel, including administrative service for follow-up treatment, is handled by an appointed representative.

"By holding the hand of the patient through every step of treatment and taking care of the details along the way, this rider lets them focus on their recovery," it said.

HLA said the Premier Millions plan does not compromise on either personal or family coverage.

"Designed for those who want protection in the present and a legacy to leave behind, HLA Premier Millions is a regular premium investment-linked plan that offers world-leading medical treatment for advanced cancer along with protection for death, total and permanent disability, old age disablement, and accidental death," it said.

It said for those who are looking for enhanced medical coverage, HLA MediShield II Rider offers all-round protection that covers room and board, hospitalisation fees, and outpatient expenses.

The company said that by paying a little extra in premiums, policyholders can enjoy annual medical coverage that starts from RM2 million with no lifetime limit.
