KUALA LUMPUR (May 30): New York headquartered Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) is integrating its Malaysia office with local communications agency, LUMOS PR.

In a statement today, H+K said the integrated entity will be rebranded Hill+Knowlton LUMOS and led by Justin Then, founder and managing director of LUMOS PR.

The firm said Then was previously the managing director of H+K Malaysia (2013 to 2017), and brings considerable leadership experience and market acumen to the new role.

H+K global president Lars Erik Grønntun said bringing its Malaysia office together with LUMOS PR was part of H+K’s growth strategy in the Asean region.

“Significantly, this latest move strengthens our presence and capabilities in Malaysia, allowing us to better service the growing number of multinationals establishing ASEAN hub offices in the country.

“We are confident in Then’s skills and ability to lead Hill+Knowlton LUMOS. With the combined strengths of the two agencies, our Malaysia-based clients will benefit from deep local insight and the global reach of the H+K network,” said Grønntun.

Meanwhile, H+K Asia cluster lead HS Chung said the rapid growth and immense agility exhibited by LUMOS PR since its inception around two years ago was a testament to Then’s talent and drive.

Then said the integration with H+K will enable LUMOS PR to realise its plan of expanding beyond Malaysia sooner than originally anticipated.

““I am confident that joining forces with H+K will also accelerate our growth trajectory within Malaysia, bolstering our integrated communications solutions and helping our clients venture into burgeoning markets across the region,” said Then.

H+K has offices in more than 40 countries worldwide, with clients across all sectors and disciplines and with a focus on continued innovation for the industry.

Recent innovations include Flight School+, a crisis communications training and simulation tool, Better Impact a new approach to brand purpose and CSR, and H+K Smarter, a behavioral science unit.
