KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 2): Johor-based Harn Len Corp Bhd has re-designated its 63-year-old executive director Low Quek Kiong — who is also the son of its chairman Tan Sri Low Nam Hui — to managing director (MD).

In separate filings with Bursa Malaysia today, Quek Kiong's brother Low Kueck Shin, 58, has also been re-designated from his role as executive director to deputy managing director. Another brother, Low Kok Yaow, 26, has been appointed an executive director.

Meanwhile, chairman Nam Hui's wife, Puan Sri Chan Pui Leorn, 56, is now the deputy chairman. She was previously just an executive director.

All the re-designations that were announced today, have been effective Jan 1.

Nam Hui’s other sons, namely Low Kwek Lee, Low Kuek Kong and Low Kok Yong, are also executive directors in the company.

Harn Len, which is in oil palm plantations, oil milling operations, and property investment and hotel operations, is controlled by the Low family, who holds some 67% stake in the company.

Harn Len shares closed up 1 sen to RM1.08 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM200.3 million.
