KUALA LUMPUR: Handal Resources Bhd’s order book grew to RM191 million after its wholly-owned subsidiary secured a one-year crane fabrication contract worth RM6.35 million from Sarawak Shell Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Handal said its unit Handal Offshore Services Sdn Bhd yesterday received a letter of award from Sarawak Shell to supply one unit of pedestal crane, which will be used at the E6 field development project off Sarawak.

In a statement, Handal’s group adviser and deputy managing director Joel Emanuel Heaney said the new project has pushed the group’s order book to RM191 million — to be delivered up to 2018.

Heaney said the contract win demonstrates the “increasing confidence” of oil and gas majors in the company’s capacity and capability.

“We believe this affirmation will pay dividends for Handal going forward,” he added.
