SEMENYIH: S P Setia Bhd organised a group registration of marriage (RoM) ceremony at its Semenyih featured township — Setia Ecohill yesterday.

The ecological friendly township yesterday housed 28 couples with their friends and family to witness the ceremony.

More than half of the couples had bought properties in the township.

Jennifer, 29, a solicitor and Chua, 31, an engineer said it was the developer’s promising track record that gave them the confidence to buy in Setia Ecohill.

“We both think that this could be an ideal place to live for a bigger family, especially when we have our own children in future,” the newlyweds said after exchanging their wedding rings.

The mixed development project spans 673 acres (272ha) , of which 80 acres are allocated for parkland and green spaces. By end of 2015, there will be over 1,200 units (total 3,000 units for the entire township) to be handed out.

“The concept of terrace and high-end units here [at Setia Ecohill], is similar to our successful project in Bandar Setia Alam and Setia Eco-Park,” one of the Semenyih township project engineers said.

“By the end of 2015, we will construct a road dedicated to connect Setia Ecohill with Lekas [the Kajang–Seremban] highway, it will further improve the connectivity here,” he said when asked about concerns over the distance from city centre.

S P Setia also aims to develop a sustainable township for the Setia Ecohill residence by not only having the basic amenities, but also providing various options.

For instance, there will be private and national education available, and several leisure parks designed with different themes to suit diverse residential needs.

Apart from that, the company is also planning to have another township development, about 4km south of Setia Ecohill.

The new township, Ecohill 2, is a development on a 1,000-acre piece of land. It is a mixed development as well, but with a larger commercial area.
