KUALA LUMPUR (June 10): Government will pay the third tranche of 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) earlier, starting from next Wednesday (June 15), in conjunction with the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri which is expected to fall on July 6.

In a statement today, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the government hopes the BR1M payment will help Malaysians purchase necessities and prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

“The BR1M payment will be credited into the accounts of the receivers respectively. For those who do not have an account number, a letter of approval will be sent to the address of the payee and he or she can cash it at any nearby Bank Simpanan Nasional branches,” he said.

Under Budget 2016, the government had decided it would pay the BRIM in four tranches. The first tranche has been paid on Jan 28 and the second tranche was paid on April 28.
