KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): The Cabinet will look into the proposal to abolish the Gombak toll at the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway after it receives a comprehensive report in June, said Deputy Works Minister Mohd Anuar Mohd Tahir.

Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat during the ministry's winding up session today, Mohd Anuar said the government appointed an independent audit consultant on Jan 28 to help analyse the relevant data related to the suggestions to reduce the burden of highway tolls to the public.

"The outcome will be tabled to the Cabinet in June, upon which the government will consider the proposals to abolish toll in Gombak KL-Karak Highway," said Mohd Anuar.

"We will try to uphold the people's demand, but within our capacity," he added.
