KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 5): Worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings fell 5% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of 2018 to US$15.8 billion from US$16.74 billion second quarter.
The US-based Semiconductor Equipment & Materials International (SEMI) in a statement on its website Dec 3 however said the figure was 11% higher year-on-year.
The data are gathered jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 95 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.
