KUALA LUMPUR (July 24): Based on corporate announcements and newsflow today, these stocks could be in focus on Thursday (July 25): GHL Systems Bhd, Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, Axis Real Estate Investment Trust, Gadang Holdings Bhd, Vizione Holdings Bhd, Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNEX) and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS).

GHL Systems Bhd’s wholly-owned GHL (Thailand) Co Ltd has teamed up with Thanachart Bank Public Company Ltd to jointly launch smart payment terminals in Thailand, the partnership offering multiple payment acceptance in a single device “Smart All in One”.

As of March, GHL Thailand has an e-payment touchpoint network of 57,100 acceptance points in Thailand.

Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd’s unit SEA Hibiscus Sdn Bhd successfully achieved first oil after drilling and completing the SJ-105A well on July 16, which is part of the North Sabah Production Sharing Contract (North Sabah PSC). This is the first of three infill wells being drilled as part of the St Joseph infill drilling project in Malaysia, which is part of the 2011 North Sabah Enhanced Oil Recovery PSC.

SEA Hibiscus assumed operatorship of the North Sabah PSC on March 31, 2018, as a 50% joint-venture (JV) working interest partner with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

Axis Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)’s second quarter ended June 30 saw net property income (NPI) grow 15.81% year-on-year to RM47.74 million, on the back of property income which rose 13.74% to RM53.76 million. Total income rose 14.21% to RM54.19 million.

For the cumulative six months, NPI rose 19.88% to RM96.95 million on a near 17% hike in revenue to RM107.96 million.

Axis REIT declared a second interim income distribution per unit of 2.36 sen payable on Aug 30.

Gadang Holdings Bhd made a net loss of RM3.39 million in the fourth quarter ended May 31 from a RM23.31 million net profit a year prior due to the recognition of variation orders at its construction division and lower profit from its Johor based capital City project. Revenue grew 7% to RM196.9 million. This is the first quarterly loss the group has incurred since 4QFY11.

Net profit for the full financial year plunged 55% to RM43.49 million despite an 18% rise in revenue to RM699.89 million.

Vizione Holdings Bhd and Engineering Protocol Sdn Bhd (EPSB) inked a Memorandum of Collaboration for a potential joint investment to bid in the third round of the RM2 billion Large Scale Solar Photovoltaic Plants (LSS) project, with the deadline for submission to the Energy Commission of Malaysia on August 19.

Dagang NeXchange Bhd’s wholly-owned unit Dagang Net Technologies has received a two-year extension from the Government for the National Single Window for Trade Facilitation contract to Aug 31, 2021.

Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd received shareholders' approval to fully acquire Toyoplas Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries for RM311.25 million. Toyoplas is to be taken over by KPS subsidiary Perangsang Dinamik Sdn Bhd.
