DENGKIL (Sept 6): Gamuda Land, the property arm of construction group Gamuda Bhd, has today opened the new RM150 million Gamuda Cove Interchange here, which provides direct access from the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) Highway into the 1,530-acre Gamuda Cove township.

The interchange leads straight into the township's 372-acre commercial business district, where the sales gallery for the project is located.

"Gamuda Cove was planned not just as a smart township, but also as a protected natural sanctuary. Its strategic location, bordering the Kuala Langat forest reserve and Paya Indah Wetlands, allows us to streamline our development, in line with the natural greenery surrounding our community.

"The development of the 60-acre central park is currently ongoing and is expected to be completed before our residents move in," said Gamuda Land executive director Datuk Abdul Sahak Safi during his speech.

Works Minister Baru Bian, who officiated the event, said the people of Dengkil will also benefit from the opening of the interchange, as it gives them direct access to the ELITE Highway and indirectly shortens the travelling distance between Dengkil and the surrounding areas.

"The interchange is equipped with a 12-lane toll plaza, public toilets, surau, wakaf, and parking area, to ensure road users [have] a pleasant and comfortable experience," the minister said.

Gamuda Land said the opening of the interchange paves the way for 25 million visitors coming in through the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and klia2 airports to Gamuda Cove's Discovery Park, which comprises two recreational zones.

The developer said a water theme park is in the pipeline, which is targeted to open by 2021, complementing the Discovery Park and eco-tourism activities at Paya Indah Wetlands.
