KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 15): Samsung’s latest flagship device, the Galaxy Note9, has arrived on Malaysians shores. It was welcomed by an excited crowd of 2,000 people who attended its launch at Bukit Jalil's Arena Axiata today.

The launch was the largest and most resplendent launch of any Samsung smartphone yet, the group said in a statement today.

At the historic event, the crowd was further electrified by the appearance of the world-leading Taekwondo demo team K-Tigers, who presented a strong martial arts performance which was "the perfect representation of the new device's speed and power", Samsung said.

"The Galaxy Note9 combines power, productivity, sheer endurance, and entertainment into one single device. Coupled with a strong defense-grade security feature, this is the go-to device that fits every need. Consumers nowadays are consistently looking out for a smartphone that is capable of doing it all — from taking great photos, to smooth gaming experiences, to business presentations. I’m glad to announce that now, you have the perfect option in the Galaxy Note9,” said Yoonsoo Kim, president of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

One key feature of the Note9 is its noise reducing, dual aperture camera — Samsung’s smartest yet. Aside from scene optimiser, it also features Flaw Detection to alert users if a picture taken is not of the best quality.

Another standard for the phone is the Samsung DeX, now with a high-speed 10nm processor, which provides a PC-experience for users,

Users can also get more done with the improved intelligent assistant Bixby, and with the all-new S Pen with Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) support. Now, developers can integrate the iconic pen’s BLE support feature into their apps.

“The device also includes an industry-leading and Samsung-developed Water Carbon Cooling system and an on-device AI-based performance-adjusting algorithm to deliver powerful yet stable performances,” the statement said.

Other Galaxy standards include fast wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance rating, a large-capacity 4,000mAh battery, a 6.4-inch screen with Super AMOLED on the much-loved Infinity Display, and AKG-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos® immersive audio.

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 will be on sale in Malaysia from Aug 24 at the retail prices of RM3,699 (128GB) and RM4,599 (512GB). It is available in Midnight Black and Metallic Copper with matching S Pen colours, and Ocean Blue with a Yellow S Pen.
