KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 3): Frontken Corp Bhd's share price closed up 10 sen or 4.27% at RM2.44 today, after Bursa Malaysia said proprietary day trading (PDT) short selling and intraday short selling (IDSS) of the stock was suspended today.

At 5pm, Frontken, which offers support services to the semiconductor besides oil and gas sectors, registered a volume of some 28 million shares. At RM2.44, Frontken has a market capitalisation of RM2.56 billion.

Frontken, which had earlier today traded among Bursa top gainers, erased losses after falling to its intraday low at RM1.98.

Bursa said in a special announcement earlier today that PDT short selling and IDSS for Frontken shares have been suspended for the rest of the day today, as the last done price of the approved securities dropped more than 15% from the reference price.

"The short selling under PDT and IDSS will only be activated the following trading day, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 at 08:30 am," Bursa said.
