KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): Tune Protect Group Bhd has appointed Indian national Rohit Chandrasekharan Nambiar as its group chief executive officer (CEO), effective tomorrow.

Rohit, 40, is filling the post that has been left vacant by Khoo Ai Lin, who resigned on July 31. Prior to this, Rohit was the CEO of AXA Affin Life Insurance Bhd, a position he held for about two years.

In a statement, Tune Protect said Rohit will be responsible for steering the company on its continuing journey of strong growth and digital transformation.

"We are proud that Rohit has joined as group CEO of the company and to have him lead our operations across Malaysia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates," said Tune Protect chairman Ng Siek Chuan.

"With his track record of success spanning 17 years in the insurance industry, I am confident Rohit will help scale our business to a new level of growth and success. Rohit brings to the role not only invaluable insights, but a wealth of experience built up over an illustrious career," he added.

"I look forward to working with our board, employees and all stakeholders concerned in driving and positioning the company's future as a preferred digital lifestyle insurer across Southeast Asian markets," Rohit said in the same statement.

Shares in Tune Protect closed half a sen or 1.56% higher at 32.5 sen today, valuing the counter at RM244.32 million. Year-to-date, the counter has fallen some 42% from 56.5 sen.
