KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 10): Ford has recorded retail sales of 872 units in Malaysia this August, driven by continued demand for the Ranger, Fiesta and EcoSport nameplates.

In a statement, the company said its best-selling nameplate in Malaysia, the Ranger pickup, helped year-to-date (YTD) sales to rise 17% to 6,171 units, as a total of 651 units of the vehicle were sold in August.

The Fiesta contributed to the August performance with retail sales of 108 units, driving its YTD sales to 943 units as demand continues for both its 1.5L Ti-VCT and 1.0L EcoBoost variants.

The EcoSport compact urban SUV, meanwhile, delivered a retail sales of 75 units in August, boosting its YTD sales to 724 units.

Ford Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets managing director David Westerman said Ford will continue to build on the appeal of its Malaysia showroom before the end of the year with the upcoming launches of the new Ranger and all-new Everest, as well as the iconic Mustang.

“We’re looking forward to further increasing the appeal of our Malaysia showroom and vehicle line-up, and continuing with our ongoing efforts to ensure the very best customer and ownership experience,” he added.
