Food: A new cuisine destination

SUNWAY Resort Hotel will open its brand new concept cafe on Sunday. Called the Resort Café, it is helmed by Executive Chef Peter Lee and supported by chefs Ala’a Ali Ansawi, Raymond Yin, Parthiban Nalliah and Sergio Zanetti, each of whom specialises in different types of cuisine. Their diverse experience and expertise will bring new flavours to the hotel’s scene.

The Resort Café will truly be a treat for the senses. Taking inspiration from Asia’s lively food halls, packed with a hive of activities and aromas, the restaurant will be a delicious canvas of Asian and Middle Eastern delicacies. The array of dishes served here will celebrate the diverse multicultural influence of Malay, Chinese and Indian communities, as well as splashes of Singaporean, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Middle Eastern and Western dishes.

At a media preview last week, journalists were given a taste of what’s to come. The Resort Café will serves 60 dishes from seven different menus on their buffet island every day as well as over 50 selections of the chefs’ unique and signature dishes. These are served in rotation, so guests will always have something different and will never be tired of the food that’s being served.

The chefs have also created different concepts and menus catering to different dining audiences. For instance, those on the go will appreciate their express lunch sets. For dinner, there is a hotpot corner serving flavourful broth married to fresh ingredients. Dinner set meals are served in three-tier tiffin carriers reminiscent of our bygone days.

Specialty dishes will also feature prominently in the menu and they are specially crafted by the chefs, including miso soup with maca root, fresh oyster and lobster, which is touted as the most flavourful aromatic brew in the restaurant.

The Resort Café will also feature a stunning dessert section with a chocolate fountain, super luxe ice kacang, cakes, pastries, ice cream and almost any types of sweets that one can possibly imagine. The experience is akin to stepping into a dessert heaven.
